Trailer Wet Weight Estimator
Brochure dry weight is the trailer empty. Real trips add water, propane, batteries and gear, often 1,000–2,000 lb.
Weights used
- Water: 8.34 lb per US gallon
- Propane: about 4.2 lb per gallon (a full 20 lb cylinder holds 20 lb of propane, roughly 4.7 gal)
- Batteries: group 24/27 lead-acid ≈ 50–65 lb; lithium is often 25–35 lb
Note: if the dry weight already includes the factory battery and propane tanks (empty), only add what's extra. When in doubt, plan with the trailer's GVWR as the worst case.
Safety note: These are planning estimates, not a guarantee your setup is safe or legal. Always verify with your truck's door-jamb sticker, the manufacturer's towing guide for your exact configuration, the trailer's VIN sticker, and a real weigh at a CAT scale. Never exceed any rating.
